The Feldenkrais Method®

Feldenkrais® is a unique approach to improving performance

and changing habits of movement and posture.


Students are often surprised to feel more grounded, flexible,

balanced and taller after the very first lesson.


Hands-on Feldenkrais sessions (called Functional Integration) are tailored to each student's individual needs.  The practitioner guides your movements through non-invasive touch.  Students are fully clothed, lying on a table, or in a sitting or standing position. At times, various props (pillows, rollers, blankets) are used in an effort to give support and ease, or to facilitate certain movements. The learning process is carried out without the use of any invasive or forceful procedure.


Whether you want to address chronic pain or a neurological condition, improve your fitness routine, avoid injury in exercising, improve coordination and grace in working, dancing, interacting with your baby, or performing a favorite pastime, Feldenkrais lessons can improve your overall well being.

Group Feldenkrais classes are called “Awareness Through Movement®“ or “ATM” for short. Classes usually begin with lying on a mat while the teacher leads you through movements, some familiar, some new, and some challenging.  Because you are able to set your own pace, it is accessible to everyone from young adults - senior citizens no matter what their health condition is. 

Dan Rindler has taught Awareness Through Movement to teachers at independent schools in NYC, and most recently at Voices United, a NYC Choral Festival.  He is currently forming group classes in Park Slope, Brooklyn and on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.  Please email danrindler@gmail.com for details.
